STALL SPEED

 

When selecting a transmission torque converter, please use caution; Many people think that by selecting a very high stall speed converter that their car is going to be much faster. The truth of the matter is, if a very high stall speed converter is installed you will take away the drivability of the car. A high stall speed converter is primarily used for high horse power vehicles to increase launch speed off the line.

Here is what we normally recommend to our customers using the following camshafts to help determine converter stall speed, please keep in mind there are many other determining factors when selecting, such as rear-end ratio, tire size and carburetion. Please consult your transmission expert before purchasing a high stall speed converter.
